My pics of Parliment turned out about the same. Shame, really, because I remember thinking how nice the interior was and how much I'd like some decent pics of it.
Heh, it feels funny just living up the street from Parliament. :D
When I was about 18 I did the tour. I had a hat on so I was gruffly asked to take it off. So I did. But apparently there were parts where I couldn't walk around with my hat in my hand, so they kept insisting I put it on, take it off, put it on, take it off.
To this day I don't know if that's an actual policy or the security staff were messing with my head. lol.

They are actually all of the library. The top one is the ceiling from the inside.
The statue is of Queen Victoria. Its kind of famous.
