Brussels

Brussels. Ahh, the heart of Europe. The capital of the European Union, the birthplace of the Euro form of currency. The history simply drips from the eaves here. No wait, that was pigeons...
All these pictures are in the megabyte range, and so will need to be clicked on to see them in all their glory.

The statue just outside our hotel. (hotel is on the left). This statue apparently commemorates quite a famous incident, but I honestly never heard of it before. Please click on it to enlarge, translate, and let me know what it is all about. Personally, I thought it was really neat to have such a nice plaza just outside the hotel doors.

Random fountains. Random architecture.
We even found this little fella. Taking a pee on the street corner.

And the chololate museum. I actually took the picture for Henri who no doubt appreciates the wrought iron as well as the Belgian chocolate.
